The Trade Exam

All CLC trade exam preparation programs utilize a combination of instructional textbooks with corresponding Video, & Audio support materials and feature computerized final exams. 

Our Trade Manuals, Audio and Video Programs and Computerized Final Exams are designed to work together & are key to helping you memorize and pass your State exam.

NOTE! If you are already a licensed contractor in good standing & wish an additional license you will be very pleased to know that you only have to pass the trade exam. You are not required to take the Law and Business exam again!

The trade exam itself consists of questions coming from such diverse sources as (a) The Cal/OSHA State of California Construction Safety Orders, General Building trade manual, (b) NEC-National Electric Code, (c) CALTRANS - Publication Unit, (d) Standard Specifications State of California DOT, (e) Uniform Fire Code, (f) California Contractors License Law & Reference Book, (g) Construction Planning Equipment & Methods, (h) California Building Code, (i) California Disabled Accessibility Guidebook, (J) Manuals relating to the trade in which you are becoming licensed.

 
The Law and Business Exam

All CLC Law and Business exam preparation programs utilize a combination of Instructional Textbooks with corresponding Video, & Audio support materials and feature Computerized Final Exams. 

Your study sessions will range between regularly scheduled sit-down study sessions, watching a Video or DVD and listening to a CD or Cassette at home or in the car.

The law exam consists of questions from (a) The California Building Code, (b) California Contractors License Law & Reference Book, (c) Cal/OSHA Construction Safety Orders, (d) “Green book:” Standard Specifications for Public Works Const & Home Improvement Contracts: Putting the pieces together.
